For my topic choice, I would like to do Autism. My brother is autistic and has made a huge impact on my life. I know a few things about it but I want to learn a lot more. It is interesting to see how different an autistic child is and how they think compared to a "normal" child. I also want to know why it is more common in boys than girls.

    Dear Bree,

I have worked with children for four years and have a lot of experience with working with children with Autism. We don't know a lot about Autism, so it may be finding sources. You could compare potential causes of Autism proposed by different doctors and argue which one you think is correct. You can do a lot with the topic of Autism--how the public perceives autism and what the government can do to change that perception; equitability in the workplace for individuals with autism; comparing and contrasting potential 'cures' for autism; etc.

Spend your time in the AML narrowing the scope of your topic. Look and see what kind of research in Autism already exists and what you can do with that research.
